TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY
In the spring of 2016, a small but passionate group of volunteers in Boylston organized the town’s very first community-wide cleanup. What began as a grassroots effort quickly made a lasting impact—raising awareness about litter and pollution while opening the door to meaningful volunteer opportunities for individuals, families, and children alike. More than just picking up litter, the event became a symbol of community pride and connection.
The momentum continued. Thanks to strong support from local businesses and residents, the second town-wide cleanup was an even greater success. It was clear: Boylston was ready for something bigger. From that spark, Keep Boylston Beautiful (KBB) was born, not just as a cleanup crew, but as a true community movement.
Backed by dedicated volunteers and generous sponsors, KBB has focused on building a solid foundation. We've established essential resources, taken steps to formalize our non-profit status, and expanded our vision. Our mission reaches beyond litter cleanups, we aim to enhance our town through a variety of projects that foster beauty, environmental impacts, and local pride.
KBB runs entirely on donations, and we’re deeply grateful for the continued support of residents and local businesses.

Since the spring of 2016, our community has come together for 14 town-wide litter cleanups, removing more than 32,800 pounds of litter along with numerous large debris piles from roadsides, parks, and public spaces. Volunteers of all ages have participated enthusiastically, including families and groups working side by side to help clean up our town.
During these events, volunteers have done more than collect trash. Together, we have taught children the importance of caring for our town’s beauty while also building a stronger sense of pride, accomplishment, and community connection.
Our town-wide cleanups would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors.
